ESG and Shareholder Value

56.00 mins
Professor Aaron Yoon
Thu 2 Mar 2023

Abstract

ESG has been an uneasy marriage of investors looking for financial returns and those prioritizing social ones. There has been recent attention to greenwashing, which caused the anti-woke and woke debate. However, almost all firms are issuing disclosures such as ESG reports claiming that ESG is not an important investment activity. Against this backdrop, finding ESG factors that deliver financial return is important. This talk will comment about the state of ESG investing and go through the ESG initiatives that are likely to see a financial payoff, and what it will take for the sector to continue to thrive.

This event is worth 1 CPD point.
